Kansas City Chiefs free agent defensive tackle Dontari Poe is signing with the Atlanta Falcons, according to multiple reports.

The Chiefs signed Logan on Monday, making the return of Donatri Poe unlikely, which was confirmed when he signed with the Atlanta Falcons just a few days later. Initial reactions on social media where of dissappointment but Poe was more name than on-field substance.

After not getting hit with the franchise tag, it seemed increasingly likely that Poe would end up signing a one-year deal to prove he's worth a multi-year contract in 2018.

Poe, 26, was originally a first round pick for the Chiefs back in 2012. Using Poe in the backfield as a decoy at some point this season wouldn't be surprising considering the Chief's success using him on offense.

Pioli was relieved of his duties in KC after the disastrous 2-14 season that ensued, but Poe went on to have a productive five-year stint with the Chiefs. "We are happy to be able to add him to our roster".

The Vikings signed Oakland running back Latavius Murray early Thursday after a long night of negotiations. When he made the Pro Bowl in the 2013 and 2014 seasons, Poe was often a dominant player. Poe was regarded among the NFL's best pass-rushing interior defensive line for the first three years of his career.

The top defensive tackles still on the free agency market include Johnathan Hankins and Sen'Derrick Marks. His run stopping ability is his biggest talent and will eat blockers as well allowing edge rushers like Vic Beasley to get to the quarterback more effectively.
