Koeman talks tough on Lukaku and Barkley contracts

GETTYStan Collymore says Tottenham should sign Romelu Lukaku

Ronald Koeman has admitted he is not anxious over Romelu Lukaku's decision not to sign a new contract - but warned Ross Barkley could be sold if he doesn't pen a new deal.

The Belgium global is contracted until 2019, but reports earlier this week suggested Lukaku was unwilling to recommit to the club with a new deal on offer.

"But I am not so afraid about his situation because the player has more than two years on his contract".

Lukaku, who is the EPL's joint-top scorer with 19 goals this season, said he wanted to play in the UEFA Champions League.

Everton, who are seventh in the league, host 18th-placed Hull City on Saturday. "Ross is a boy from Everton and what we need to show for him is the best reasons to stay and of course his situation is different because his [contract] is running out next season", Koeman said.

Maybe Ronald Koeman knew something we didn't when he pointedly said in his pre-West Brom news conference, "it's still not signed".

Mourinho later emerged himself smiling while Raiola darted off unseen by waiting photographers. "Of course his situation is different because Ross is running out, next season is his past year of his contract". At the end of the day, the big aim in football is to win as many titles as you can.

It's also been reported by Jack Wilson of the Daily Star that Raiola and Woodward "have now become friends following their regular transfer dealings", with last summer's influx of star talent presumably bringing the two together. "But we as players we want the fans talking about us instead of us talking about them".

"Then you are talking about Champions League and whatever types of games". I think the player needs to understand this, it's not an ultimatum but I spoke to Ross about a new contract and it's up to the board to get that over the line.

Dembele joined Celtic on a free transfer from Fulham last summer but could now fetch a transfer fee as high as £40million after his superb debut season in the Scottish Premiership. If he is fit, he will start and he will play and he will score goals.

"That is what we want as players".
