Maryland football's NCAA APR score ranks sixth in Big Ten for 2015

Football recorded WVU's lowest four-year score at 940, which also ranked as the second-lowest among Power 5 football programs, above only Florida State's 939.

"We're excited to recognize our student-athletes' outstanding academic accomplishments", Maryland director of athletics Kevin Anderson said.

UConn's football team scored a 975, with Yale at (990), Sacred Heart (966) and Central (944).

The score is calculated by awarding points for each player that remains academically eligible or graduates, and schools are judged based on their four-year average score.

Every Division I sports team across the nation calculates its April each academic year, similar to a report card. "We have a great partnership with Marilyn Middlebrook and her team in the Academic Enrichment Center and we're thankful for all the time and effort they put in to helping all of our student-athletes reach their goals in the classroom". Those programs were: baseball, soccer, men's cross country, men's hockey, women's swimming and diving, men's and women's golf and men's and tennis. Women's basketball, men's cross country, women's cross country, men's golf, softball and volleyball were all recognized by the NCAA. That mark places them among the top 10 percent nationally in the sport and top 20 percent of all teams in any sport. The 2015-16 overall four-year rate is 981, up two points from the four-year rate announced last year. Football, men's basketball, women's basketball and baseball have made significant progress in recent years and that progress has helped us record the best April average, collectively, since April was originated. Women's basketball and Baseball were the highest profile teams with ideal scores, along with men's tennis, beach volleyball, women's swimming and diving, women' tennis and indoor volleyball rounded out the list.

Men's basketball has improved its April 74 points in the past seven years. The baseball team, with a 990 April, bettered the national average by 17 points. Within it, OSU's five sports with ideal scores included men's golf and four women's sports - cross country golf, soccer and tennis. His final single-year April was 923.

The UConn men's basketball team posted flawless scores for its academic performance, according to the NCAA's latest report. It is considered to be the NCAA's "real-time" snapshot of academic progress, graduation and retention. Those penalties can include practice restrictions and playing-season reductions.
